Do you have a poker brain?
Many books have been published on the subject and several movies hit the stages all trying to uncover the secrets of poker, the ultimate game of skills and probabilities. But does the mathematical analysis really help at the poker table?
Human brains (well, maybe not all of them!) are very good at pattern matching and analysis, so if you are one of the luckiest ones who did score pretty well in your math class, you may want to consider hitting the poker table quite soon and pushing your luck with some good estimation of the ultimate optimal move.
Is that considered cheating at poker? Well, it all depends on what kind of estimation. Let’s just say that we won’t recommend you going to Las Vegas and counting cards (if you haven’t seen the movie “21″ this could be the right time for you to rent it), instead we do want to suggest that having a poker brain can turn out to be quite lucrative.
Any poker player, whether a beginner or a professional, would stress the importance of bluffing at poker during any live or online poker tournament, and all of us have heard many times the expression “poker face, ” to indicate the emotionless and expressionless face when placing a bet. But how about the impact of having a great poker mind? Isn’t getting inside your rivals’ heads as important as having a good hand? We think so.
That’s why if you are ready to become the next big poker winner, we strongly encourage you to go ahead and brush up on your math and psychology skills before heading to the table. And if you still do not end up cashing out the big pot, then you might want to consider helping your kids with their next class assignment. Good luck!
