Lap Change
The lap change is for when you really don’t have the space or luxury of fin gin good place to chine the diaper. Most common places for this maneuver is on a bus, train, airplane, or crowed stadium. If you can get the baby to lie down, changing on the lap will not be too difficult. But if you have a stander, the maneuver will be pretty tough, but here is how it’s done. With the kid facing you, have her leaning on you chest or shoulders for support. Change her the same way that you would do in the standing changing maneuver, but because she is facing you, you will need to find some other way to keep her occupied and distracted. Machine funny faces are one way that you can do it. Another way is to continually to blow in her face, this always seems to distract them, but the time is limited. The other thing that you can do is to hold some of her toys in you teeth so that she can play with them. If you want to really be prepared, have baseball hat handy. You can use an inky clip to clap to your hat and tie a toy to it.
