A Champion Both in Business and Philanthropy
In 2003, Naveen Jain founded Intelius after a sterling track record that began when he made the leap from his New Delhi, India hometown to pursue the American dream. Although it was some time before his career jumpstarted to shape the prominent figure that he would be, he knew where his passion and strengths lay. From Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys) to several start-ups, he finally worked with the pioneering technology giant Microsoft in 1989. During his tenure, he oversaw all of the company’s major profit-making hits, and honed both his technical and business acumen before leaving on April 1996.
From then on, he proceeded to make himself a force to reckon with through two technological ventures. Naveen Jain first created InfoSpace with the vision of creating an Internet company that could function virtually as an online version of the Yellow Pages. This directory proved to be highly useful for both consumers and businesses, earning for itself tremendous demand right from its launch.
However, that was definitely not the peak of Naveen Jain’s legacy of innovation excellence. Creating the Bellevue, Washington-based Intelius in 2003, he established a company that revolutionized the information commerce industry. Through its products and services, it provides clients with security services, and indispensable decision tools.
Intelius has also built a reputation for itself as a dedicated philanthropic group, following its exemplary model — its co-founder and CEO himself, Naveen Jain. Among the many accolades it has garnered are “One of Washington’s Top Three Best Workplaces” by Puget Sound Business Journal; among the top 15 Corporate Philanthropists in the greater Puget Sound area; “America’s Top 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies” by Inc. Magazine; “Rising Star” in Deloitte & Touche’s Technology Fast 500 Program and “Best New Company” by the American Business Awards. Naveen Jain and his company gave over $210,000 to charity. The former also instilled a culture of giving in Intelius’ workforce.
