Badminton World Championship Preparation

Badminton women’s doubles champions, Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui talks about their rigid preparation for the upcoming World Championships come August 10 to 16 in Hyberabad.

Pei Tty and Eei Hui first achieved international recognition when they won in the Indonesian Open and landed on the number one world rank. According to a number of realiable badminton critiques, the pair is considered to the among the top bets for the World Championship title. Pei Tty and Eei Hui were also among the qualifiers of the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold that was held last month.

The pair admits being anxious about the approaching badminton event, giving off a slight lack of confidence in the strength of their future performance. They have been exerting extra effort over the past months to gain mental vigour to last throughout the tournament.

The pair has been trained to work early on to leave an ample time between their initial mental conditioning before the actual badminton event. This was the approach that trainers and coach Rexy Mainaky had them subjected to. This targets the pair’s number one difficulty, which is to keep their focus throughout the duration of the game. The pair is famed for their physical prowess. However, their weaknesses are obvious to fellow contenders and to the vigilant audience. Pei Tty and Eei Hui are observed to have been triumphing over other powerful tandems in both local and international badminton arenas. These victories include the pair’s success in the Beijing Olympic games last year where they won over South Korea’s Lee Kyung Won and Lee Hyo Jung, and China’s Cheng Su and Zhao Yunlei.

In spite of the threats of a back injury plaguing Eei Hui, the pair continues to work on strengthening their stamina and agility to ensure the top spot of the World Championships. Admittedly, their self-confidence problem will be easily mended once their skills are honed enough for the tournament.
