Leading international law firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has taken new office space in Manchester on lease. It has acquired office space in the Chancery Place building, which stands in Manchester city centre. The 14-storeyed building has a massive area of 8,000 sq ft open for office space.
BLG, which is reputed for handling insurance cases and for fast track resolution of dispute cases, has an impressive office in London. Chancery Place will be the second office for the law firm in the UK. It already has desk space in the heart of London in Beaufort House, besides having other offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Sao Paulo.
The firm intends to use the new office space in Manchester for handling liability cases involving employers, the public, and motor vehicles. The proximity of the building to the courts will facilitate such operations.
The new Manchester office will be headed by Robert Muttock and Mark Hamsted, who have loads of experience in their roles as legal defendants for insurers and government agencies. They will be assisted by ten associates and secretaries.
Moreover, a liability practice will be run by the law firm from its Manchester office. The firm also has plans to let out the new office space to future tenants.
According to Robert Muttock, the Chancery Place building will reap rich dividends for the company due to its strategic location in Manchester. Muttock further said that as the new office will offer better coverage for the company, the needs and requirements of its clients will be better addressed.
